Valio Aimo® sustainability
Our sustainability work is founded on Valio’s sustainability program, which we have further refined to reflect the specific characteristics of the wholesale sector. We focus on three main themes: efficient operations, responsible sourcing and supporting the customer.

Efficient operations
We are committed to reducing the climate impact of our own operations and minimizing food waste in the wholesale sector.
Our goal is to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of our wholesale business down to zero by 2030. Additionally, we are doing our part to help Valio achieve its ambitious goal: a carbon-neutral dairy chain by 2035.
Responsible sourcing
Fair partnership and cooperation are the foundation of transparent sourcing. We are endlessly interested about the origins, manufacturing process, and the entire supply chain of food – and we want to share this knowledge with our customers.
We have laid out clear policies for high-risk raw materials and conducted a human rights and environmental risk assessment for our entire selection. We work hard to identify and prevent potential risks.

Supporting the customer
We want to make it easy for our customers to make sustainable choices. We ensure that our selection includes a wide range of organic, eco-labeled, and local products.
We are working towards making the carbon footprints of our products easily available to all of our customers. This will require a major leap, but we have our sleeves rolled up.
